Delivery Cyclist - Substitute/On Call
Delivery Cyclist
Schedule: November 18 to December 18, 10 AM to 5 PM Mondays through Thursdays, approximately 32 hours per week. On-call after December 18.
Founded in Philadelphia in 2010, Wash Cycle Laundry is the fastest, most convenient and sustainable way for urban businesses to do laundry. We are a triple-bottom line social enterprise committed to creating a launching pad into upwardly mobile careers, especially for people with histories of incarceration and homelessness, who make up over half of our team. We are also working to push the boundaries of environmental sustainability, adopting cutting-edge green technologies inside the plant and pioneering the use of cargo bikes for urban laundry delivery.
Delivery Cyclists pick up and deliver laundry using a company bicycle with a trailer. They manage the relationship with our important customers.

- Bike safely, legally, and respectfully while navigating a variety of routes throughout the city and adhering to a time schedule.
- Meet your customers' expectations for on-time deliveries.
- Think and communicate through unexpected situations -- whether it's traffic, a delay at the plant, or a flat tire, you'll find a solution and make sure your customers and teammates know what they can expect.
- Lead periodic inventory counts at our customers' places of business.
Requirements
- Experience biking around Philly is necessary. Experience with minor bike repairs is strongly preferred, but is not strictly necessary.
- Be attentive, motivated, and reliable.
- Confident user of a smartphone and mapping apps.
- Willingness and ability to perform manual tasks over the course of a shift.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn new things.
- Effective communication skills regarding organizing a team’s work, handling issues, and communicating personal needs with coworkers and supervisors.
